Family Housing
A household must have at least one dependent child, a satisfactory rental history, and incomes and assets below limits.
Income limits in relation to the number of bedrooms required are listed below:
1 bedroom < $36,500/year
2 bedroom < $43,500/year
3 bedroom < $55,000/year
4 bedroom < $66,500/year
Asset Limits for a family is $50,000
Depending on the property, there may be additional costs such as utilities and parking.
Depending on availability, houses and apartments are assigned according to the size and needs of the family.
Applicants must be either a Canadian Citizen or a Landed Immigrant.
Security Deposit: $326.00
Rental Rates: Rent varies depending on gross household income. Families receiving social assistance will pay a set amount that has been determined by the Ministry of Social Services. As a general rule, rent will not exceed 30% of your gross household income.

Expenses like telephone, cable TV, internet, etc. are not considered to be utilities and are always the responsibility of the tenant. Depending on where you live, responsibility for utilities varies.
Appliances: Fridge and stove in each unit
Laundry: Hook-up available in detached and semidetached units. Multi-unit buildings may have either coin-operated facilities in the building or a space in the suite for the tenant’s own washer and dryer.
Additional Services:

- 24-hour emergency maintenance service
- Annual inspection and maintenance on furnaces, etc.
